by Thomas Jung
With six race weekends and twelve races, the new Porsche one-make cup under the leadership of Grid Concept will be launched as a Cup Challenge from April 2010. The championship will be held with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (997) from the model years 2008/2009. The 996 models will also be eligible to start in a B-Class. The race weekends will be held together with the Turkish touring car championship. The GT3 Cup Challenge Eastern Europe is run by a company based in Istanbul. The Grid Concept company is an alliance between the Turkish motorsport organizer cornerspeed and the Molitor Racing System team.
Part of this new and large project consists of a specially developed timing software from Media-Tec. This has been specially adapted and programmed to meet the requirements of the new racing series. Secure data acquisition and evaluation during and after the race is always guaranteed. A well thought-out software that ensures the organization during the entire race and is an indispensable part of the series.
